Our signature format, located in high traffic venues, is a semipurpose, fully equipped, fully secured, upscale, 24 / 7 / 365, coed facility that implements certain program, service, amenity, equipment, and pricing guidelines.

The result is anenvironment that transcends all demographics, fitness levels, and amounts of physical development. It’s a time-tested format, proven to be family-friendly and perfect for attracting just about anybody, anywhere, anytime. It’s set in a tranquil, nonaggressive, nonintimidating, noncompetitive, non-hardcore environment, yet doesn’t employ obsessive, compulsive, wacky, weird tactics, such as hideous props, quirky murals, cartoonish décor, lollipop colors, insane dress codes, a tightly controlled, cult-like environment, or a church-like, excessively intolerant, atmosphere!

As with all of our formats, screaming and yelling are not permitted, but personal levels of energy release are, along with equipment related sounds. When things get out of hand, and they always do, negative press and bad publicity are avoided via our No Kick Out Guideline, whereby a membership is simply transferred to one of our nearby sister formats that promotes a more aggressive, competitive, hardcore environment.

This format is an old-school classic. It’s a throwback to the fitness center concept that defined the 70’s and 80’s. Recently resurrected and restructured in the exact likeness of the original concept, which first gained popularity decades ago; various companies are once again using it to target coeds. It’s effective for attracting the first timer, casual user, or at homer, who otherwise might feel intimidated working out at a smashmouth® traditional, or any well-known, this fitness or that gym.

Since this format serves the consumer who’s more focused on equipment and price, than on programs, services or amenities, the core of your club or proposed location should have a massive amount of strength training, circuit training, and cardio equipment, set in a bare-bones, no-frills, skeleton-like environment, making this a high square footage and capital intensive format.

If you’re converting over to our brand from another, your strength training, circuit training, and cardio equipment shouldn’t be much of an issue. If you’re starting from scratch, you’ll have a choice of various strength training, circuit training, and cardio equipment manufacturers from which to equip your club, rather than just being locked into a single pick.

But, unlike others who are now recycling this format, we have NO UNREASONABLE EQUIPMENT GUIDELINES by brand, by function, by weight, or by color. By brand, you’ll have access to, amongst others, Hammer Strength®, today’s most user-friendly, popular, and requested name. By function, you’ll be able to offer equipment as basic as the power rack, so your members can safely perform exercises as fundamental as the squat. By weight, you’ll decide on dumbbell limitations, keeping in mind that even an average person can easily shrug a pair of 80’s. By color, you’ll decide on the color of your equipment, thus allowing you the freedom to select whatever shade you want.

In addition to having the slogan, King Of All Fitness®, built right into its logo, this format also uses the slogan, Where Everyday People Work Out. Although our logo is standardized throughout our formats, we strategically tweak it, depending on the format, to make it more appealing to the demographic market that particular format targets. Thus, by using this slogan, a tranquil, nonintimidating image is created.

In a smashmouth® classic, you’ll feel like you’re in a time warp, retro the good old days, back to that pre-aerobic, pre-cardio, fitness center era, when virtually every club operated bare bones and no-frills by today’s standards. So, if you’re down with that and that’s how you’d like to roll, you’ll promote $5.95 and $9.95 a month pricing for everyone. It works, and we should know, because like those we shared the market with, we were among the pioneers of this time-tested pricing strategy, successfully implementing it nearly 30 YEARS ago! It brings ‘em in just as well today, as it did back then, and it’ll allow you, as it did us, to compete with anybody, anywhere, anytime!
